Refuge Volunteer Workday - September 18, 2010
Start time: 9:00am
Volunteers help with a wide variety of tasks around the refuge. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged with indoor and outdoor opportunities available and skillsets of all types can be put to use and are much appreciated.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. A cookout lunch is provided.

Refuge Habitat Workday - September 25, 2010

Help restore and cleanup habitat. Workday activities are weather dependent and may be canceled due to inclement weather. Please call Corey at 816-383-0034 to inquire about cancellations. Safety is a primary concern of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, for this reason on all work days volunteers will need to wear work boots, long sleeve shirts, and long pants.

Refuge Office Open on Weekends - Oct 9 - Dec 4, 2010
Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Volunteers staff the visitor center during migration seasons in the fall and winter. These volunteers greet visitors and help answer questions about the refuge. The nature store is also open with a wide variety of refuge and nature-related items for sale, including shirts, hats, patches, books, jewelry and postcards. Hours: 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
