Friends of Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge

Welcome to the website for the Friends of the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge located near Mound City, Missouri.

Our organization is dedicated to promoting the refuge and its conservation activities, organizing events, and providing volunteer resources for refuge activities.



U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Economic Contribution


The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service contributed about $4.2 billion in economic activity and supported over 32,000 jobs through their management of 553 National Wildlife Refuges and thousands of smaller natural areas in the United States.

Thousands of Snow Geese (above) and other waterfowl use the refuge annually as a stopover during their migrations north and south.
